Every step comes with its own challenge. It requires the ability to adopt a growth mindset, to break problems into manageable steps and to stay strong and resilient. We made it through 2025 with its own
problems and challenges.

Here we are in 2026…
ready to face even tougher challenges. Our ability to tackle and overcome our current challenges lies in the foundation we have laid. Yes, we are proud to say we have laid a solid foundation to make Camtel an attractive labour market.

With over 500 young Cameroonians recruited at Camtel in 2025, we have laid a solid foundation not only for 2026 but for years to come. This relentless drive to give young Cameroonians a chance and integrate them into the job market is in strict compliance with the Head of State’s directives as re-echoed in his address to the youth on February 10, 2026:

“I promised you in my recent speeches, that your integration into the labour market would be one of the main priorities of this seven-year term….. My objective is to offer as many of you as possible
the opportunity to access quality training, that will enable you not only to find jobs, but also to create them.”


Camtel has put together the human resources necessary to scale new heights. Material development is also top of our priority.

That is why in 2026, we will take a step further to fasttrack our Mobile Network Expansion project that seeks to connect every Cameroonian to the fastest growing network in Cameroon…blue. 

The recent signing of a loan agreement with a conglomerate of local banks led by the Commercial Bank of Cameroon-CBC underscores our commitment to give full flesh to this project that is already in progress in several towns across the country

Telecom & Broadband Services

Market landline and mobile services (branded), FTTH/broadband offers, and professional solutions such as leased lines, hosting, and cloud services.

Digital Access & Inclusion

Promote digital inclusion by implementing programmes and partnerships that foster broadband penetration in both rural and urban areas.

Digital Sovereignty & Security

Contribute to Cameroon’s digital sovereignty and infrastructure security by operating the national backbone network and collaborating with authorities to safeguard critical assets.

A Journey of Innovation

From our humble beginnings to becoming Cameroon's leading telecommunications provider

1998

Creation of Camtel

From the merging of the former Directorate of Telecommunications of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and former INTELCAM, the company is in charge of mobile, landline telephony and international telecommunications. 

The government granted CAMTEL several strategic monopolies, including the management of landline telephony, satellites, and broadband Internet via SAT-3.

2000

A New Page

Adaptation to the telecom landscape, launch and management of various services to meet market needs.

2005

From Analog To Digital

CAMTEL dares to launch the CTPhone, a mobile service based on CDMA technology and provide wireless coverage with national roaming.

2010

Deployment of Optical Fibre Backbone

Gradual strengthening of the national optical fibre network to connect regions and improve data transmission capacity.

2018

New Dynamism

New management, new strategic direction to accelerate network modernisation and commercial offer.

2020

Licenses Granted

On 4 March 2020, CAMTEL obtained three concession agreements for landline, mobile, and transport sectors, marking a new era for the company. One year later, the new blue brand was launched.

2022

Expansion and Modernisation

Continuation of fibre expansion projects, infrastructure modernisation, and operational capacity building.

Consolidation phase of the national backbone and preparation of new expansion and digital services projects
