CAMTEL relies on its state-of-the-art infrastructure that guarantees the availability and quality of efficiency telecommunications solutions in Cameroon. This infrastructure comprises :
• A digitized fibre optics and microwave backbone, comprising over fifty transmission centres and about 75 relay stations;
• 3 satellite telecommunications centres with earth stations operated by computers in Douala, Yaounde and Garoua;
• 2 electronic switches
• Cameroon’s connection to the SAT-3 submarine cable;
• Operation of a telephone network using CDMA technology;
CAMTEL has partnered with INTELSAT and INMARSAT so as to use their satellites to transmit voice, data and images via VSAT or small portable units.
